Estate Administration
The firm provides all estate administration services (commonly referred to as the probate process) needed to settle a decedent’s estate, pay creditors, and transfer property to those entitled to it under a decedent’s Will or Texas law of descent and distribution.
Texas law provides a number of choices for estate administration. We assist clients in choosing the procedure that is best for their personal circumstances. The primary factors that affect this choice are whether the decedent died with a valid Will, the amount of titled property owned, and whether there are creditors of the decedent. Once the appropriate procedure is chosen, we perform the court related work required for the appropriate procedure and assist the client in doing other required tasks.
When needed, we assist in preparation of federal estate and other tax returns.
In addition to direct representation of clients, the firm is pleased to provide services in this area to other attorneys on an associate counsel or consulting basis.
