Walter graduated from The University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas. His practice includes estate planning (including wills, trusts, estate and gift tax, generation skipping transfer tax, and dispositive planning), business planning (including ownership and operating entities, and acquisitions and sales of closely held businesses) and litigation, estate administration, probate and trust litigation, family law, copyright law and litigation, and mediation. He is qualified for court appointment as a mediator in civil and family cases. From 1991 through 1997, he served as Associate Professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law.
He has made over ninety presentations for professional and lay groups on estate planning, estate administration, and the effective use of computers and systems in law office management including programs sponsored by the State Bar of Texas Professional Development Program, South Texas College of Law, the University of Houston Law School, the Internal Revenue Service Estate and Gift Tax Section, and the Dallas Bar Association.
